PART 3:THE INCIDENT A TIMELINE

On 06/28/24: I WENT TO  BARROWS NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE BECAUSE I COULDN’T CONTROL MY PAIN. IM DISABLED &  HAVE SPINE & BRAIN DISABILITIES (including a CSF leak& DDD). THE HEAD NURSE GOT UPSET WITH ME AND WE HAD A BRIEF ARGUMENT. I TOLD HER “JUST GIVE ME THE MEDS & I WILL GO.” SHE THEN REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE MEDS THAT SHE HAD ME WAITING FOR & WALKED AWAY TO PUT THEM AWAY. I DIDN’T FOLOW HER. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR ME TO BE THERE ANYMORE. I GOT UP TO LEAVE, TOOK OUT MY IV AND TOOK 2-3 STEPS TOWARD THE HALLWAY. I NEVER MADE IT TO THE HALLWAY.

A SECURITY GUARD (SECURITY GUARD #1)  GRABBED ME & MADE A FALSE ALLEGATION AGAINST ME (&SAID THAT I HIT A HEALTH WORKER-THE-HEADNURSE).  HE THEN USED EXCESSIVE FORCE AGAINST ME. HE GRABBED ME & STOPPED ME FROM LEAVING BY FLIPPING ME ON MY BACK. THEN, HE FELL ON ME. HE HAD NO REASON TO STOP ME OR HURT ME. THE ALLEGATION WAS FALSE, BUT IT GOT ME PUT IN JAIL. AND, NO ONE HAS HELD MY ASSAULTER ACCOUNTABLE.  IF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM WAS WORKING,THE POLICE WOULD’VE SEEN THE SECURITY TAPE(S) OF WHAT HAPPENED & I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ARRESTED. THE SECURITY VIDEO WOULD HAVE  EASILY PROVEN ME INNOCENT & THE SECURITY GUARD GUILTY, BUT EVERYBODY IS ACTING LIKE THEY DON’T  KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SECURITY TAPE(S). WHEN WE ADKED TO SEE THEM, WE GOT 4 DIFFERENT ANSWERS BC NO ONE WANTS TO TELL US THE TRUTH. THEY GOT RID OF THE EVIDENCE SO I HAVE A HARDER TIME PROVING IM INNOCENT. BUT, I DON’T HAVE TO PROVE IM INNOCENT. THEY HAVE TO PROVE THAT I HIT A HEALTH WORKER BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT & THEY FAILED TO PROVE THIS IN TRIAL #1?

WILL THEY LIE HARDER JN TRUAL #2?

BARROWS NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE/St JOES/DIGNITY HEALTH doesn’t  want the public to know they’re committing MEDICAID FRAUD & assaulting patients & framing disabled patients for crimes they didn’t do.

As soon as it happened, it was upsetting & painful but I kept reminding myself that the security tape would prove my innocence & that gave me peace. Then, PUBLIC DEFENDER #2 TOLD ME BARROWS DIDN’T HAVE THE SECURITY TAPE(S) ANYMORE. I WAS BEING FALSELY ACCUSED OF A CRIME & NOW THE EVIDENCE HAS DISAPPEARED?

WHAT?

REALLY?

HOW CONVENIENT, YOU FRAUDSTERS!

I never anticipated that BARROWS would just get rid of the evidence that proved him guilty & me innocent. Without it, it makes it harder for people to believe I’m innocent & the allegation was false.

THIS IS A COVERUP.

I think there are BARROWS employees & executives who did see the security tape & know the whole truth & want to keep the truth hidden bc it would be bad for business if people learned the truth.. I think they know I was assaulted & they know their employee made a false allegation & other employees committed Medicaid fraud, but they don’t want anyone else to know the truth because they need the public to trust them. So, they got rid of the evidence & lied  about what happened that day.

I think BARROWS know I’m innocent & their employee harmed me without cause & they’re not doing anything to help me. They don’t want me to sue them so  they are trying to get me convicted for a crime that never happened. They want me to look & feel guilty. They’re unethical & they’re hurting people & leaving them to suffer. Nobody hides evidence unless they’re guilty. BARROWS choose profits over patients everyday. .

I THINK THE BARROWS & THE COUNTY ATTORNEY ARE COACHING THESE UNRELIABLE  &/OR FALSE WITNESSES AND THE THE COUNTY ATTORNEY’S WITNESSES ARE HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING THEIR  LIES STRAIGHT.   THEIR COVER STORIES DON’T MAKE SENSE.

SECURITY GUARD #2 lies when he falsely claims that he and the SECURITY GUARD #1 got in between the HEAD NURSE & I. Nobody got in between us because no one needed to get between us. At this point, we weren’t close enough to even touch. The only physical contact that took place was between SECURITY GUARD #1 & me.

SECURITY GUARD #2 and I never came face-to-face until SECURITY GUARD #1 had me pinned to the floor on my back. Security guide #2  is not an eyewitness & can only speak as a witness to the aftermath of the incident..

In the police report,  SECURITY GUARD #2  says he couldn’t remember how I hit her. Later, after he talks with the other security guards, he comes back & says that I hit her in the back. But, if I hit her in the back, how exactly did two security guards get between her & I? Which way were they facing? Which way was the HEAD NURSE facing? If I punched her in the back, why would they need to get between us? They could’ve just pulled me away from her.

THEIR LIES DON’T MAKE SENSE.  

They never got between us because I wasn’t even close to her & never had physical contact with her. Before I was assaulted, I was walking toward SECURITY GUARD #1.. The HEAD NURSE was on the far side of the room to my right.

I think the security guards are making up lies so it looks like there was a reason to assault me & flip me onto the ground. There was no justifiable reason. There was no cause & he used excessive force. He assaulted  me without cause, and that’s a crime. Now, he’s trying to cover it up. Their lies & crimes just lead to more lies & crimes.

After he got me on the ground, SECURITY GUARD #1 told SECURITY GUARD #2 to lay on my right side bc SECURITY GUARD #1 was on my left side. SECURITY GUARD #1  asked a third security guard (who admits he wasn’t in the area during the incident) to get restraints. They put restraints on me & stood me up. I saw my personal belongings were scattered across the room. I still had my big empty purse in my right hand. I asked if I could pick up my stuff. Security guard #1 said no & took my empty purse from me.

Then, they told me to sit down on an equipment dolly & they rolled me past the 10-15 Medicaid pain patients, still waiting in hard chairs in the hallway. They rolled me outside. SECURITY GUARD #1 told me to walk from the hospital exit to the street curb. .I knew I needed back support so I sat on to the rocks so I could support my back against the wall. The security guards yelled at me to move back to the curb but ultimately let me stay there.  I sat & replayed what happened over & over again. Behind me, the men watched me as they conspired against me.

 A few seconds later, SECURITY GUARD #1 yelled at me, “You’re screwed bc we have it on tape!” I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong,

“Good!”I yelled back! “It’ll show them what you did to me!”

He stopped talking. I think he was trying to scare me & mess with my mind. But, I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. The police took off the security guard’s restraints  & put handcuffs on me & put me in the back of a squad car. I asked to talk to a supervisor so I could tell me story to someone (possibly) unbiased that (maybe) II could trust.

Pretty quickly, the  supervisor opened the side door to talk to me.. The first thing he said was that I wasn’t allowed to tell him about anything that happened inside.

What?

Why not?

When do I get to report he assaulted me?

I didn’t say any of the things that I was thinking because I didn’t want to make him angry.  I didn’t know what I could do & say so I agreed to not talk about what happened inside with the supervisor. I was  hoping  if I showed him I was listening to him then he would listen to me & would do the right thing & help me  with my pain. I told him my pain was still out of control. He told me they had medicine at the jail & they would help me with my pain. I was relieved in the moment & thanked him.

When I got to the jail, they said they didn’t have an order for pain meds for me so they couldn’t give me anything, The Phoenix Police Supervisor was either lying or he didn’t know what he was talking about. Were they keeping me in pain on purpose? How many other people in jail are the police punishing by not helping them with their pain? That’s inhumane. If we’re all innocent until proven guilty, why are you treating us all like we’re guilty.

The incident  was only between SECURITY GUARD #1 & me. It happened very fast (in a matter of seconds). There was no one else involved in the altercation, just me &  SECURITY GUARD #1 And, he was the aggressor. The security guard yelled the false allegation & immediately grabbed me & knocked me off my feet. As we were falling, I told him “I have brain & spine disabilities” bc I was hoping he’d break my fall so it would hurt less.. I came to the BARROWS BRAIN & SPINE ER bc I have brain & spine disabilities & my pain was out of control.

SECURITY GUARD #1  didn’t break my fall. My spine hit the hospital tile & then the back of my head made impact. Then, he fell  on me with all his weight. He had me twisted in an uncomfortable position & wouldn’t .get off of me.  He yelled for restraints & had security officer #2 come lay on my right side.

 SECURITY GUARD #1 told me I was going to jail. I didn’t know what to do  so I just complied. In my head, I knew the security tape would prove my innocence. I didn’t know how many cameras recorded it. But, it would be on 1 of them. It was a busy area.

Instead of doing a proper investigation, policeman #1 arrested me & took me to jail. Actually, he took me to Banner Hospital & then to jail.

That night, Barrows ER staff (1st hospital) & then Banner ER (2nd hospital) staff both committed Medicaid fraud on my account. That’s not a coincidence. It is evidence of corruption& coordination & proof  that Im the only real victim here. Im the only one that had to be medically cleared.

Q:CAN THE PUBLIC TRUST BARROWS TO CARE FOR US & KEEP US SAFE?

A:NO

BARROWS/ST JOES/DIGNITY HEALTH & BANNER HOSPITALS  should be safe places full of people that patients can trust to care for them when they’re sick& suffering. BARROWS cannot be trusted to do the right thing. They think they’re being smart businesspeople by covering up the truth, but they’re actually being morally corrupt which is a real bad look for a hospital.

THE  TIMELINE

HOW and WHEN EVERYTHING HAPPENED…

(NOTE:My story has been the same since the day it happened because I’m the only one telling the truth)

On 06/18/24-9:00 am:I arrived at the BARROWS  Neurological institute ER.  My pain was out of control. I needed help.

9:12AM– I was checked in & evaluated

9:23– ED INITIAL SCREENING- Needed pain management help for back & abdomen pain.

11:11– US PELVIC NON-OB- Found out I had  fibroids a month earlier at a DIGNITY HEALTH in MESA so they looked at them to see if they were the source of my pain. BARROWS did a pelvic ultrasound.

2:16– MRI-L( FAIL)-We couldn’t ever start the MRI bc I didn’t have the Ativan, yet. The MRI tech didn’t have any to give me. He said that they should’ve given it to me in triage already, but they hadn’t.

2:20– The MRI TECH took me back to triage & asked the HEAD NURSE for Ativan for me so I could get into the MRI.  She gave me Ativan pills which I took. I thought the tech was going to leave me there & come back for me when the pills had time to work, but he said we had to do the MRI right then bc he had a schedule & my timeslot was almost over.  So, we headed back to the MRI room.

2:30?– MRI ATTEMPT #2–  We got back to the MRI but the pills weren’t working, yet. The MRI tech said he couldn’t keep waiting. So, he took me back to Zone 1(triage area). He never took any pictures because I couldn’t stay inside it long enough for the tech to take pictures. Ultimately, The MRI-L was never started or finished.

2:45- He took me back to the triage area & told the head nurse that she gave me the wrong type of anxiety medicine. He told her I needed ATIVAN by IV. I had asked for an Ativan IV for anxiety during  the MRI when I first got triaged. For some reason, the head nurse mistakenly given me ATIVAN pills & they  take much longer to work.

Since I was unable to do the MRI, the head nurse had  to order the right type of Ativan and told me it would be a wait. She never apologized for giving me the wrong type of meds but I let it go bc mistakes happen. So, I just went and sat down & hoped for the best.

2:59- Pain re-evaluation (as noted in the visit summary)

3:00 pm-6:00pm– Patiently waited for the right meds.

6:00– I was watching the HEAD NURSE  argue with people in line. She paused and told me my meds had arrived & it was my turn. I immediately got up from the Medicaid pain line in the hallway to the big open room that  they were using as a secondary ER triage.

The room was big and open & it ran the length of the hallway. I would guesstimate it was 10 feet deep & 20 feet across so approximately 200sq feet. It had two recliners & 2-3 computer stations in it.

 She told me to sit in the recliner farthest to my right. When I sat down, I realized she was still arguing with patients in the hallway. There were no doors on the area. It was just a big open room with 2 tiny privacy curtains.  There was.a computer stations near each little privacy curtain. It offered little privacy. I could see 10-15 patients still waiting in the Medicaid pain line in the hallway & I think most of them could see me. I noticed there was a security guard standing in the room. This man is SECURITY GUARD #1.

6:05– Still waiting, I asked the STUDENT NURSE if the HEAD NURSE was the only one who could hand out medication & she said yes. I could tell the head nurse had my meds in her hand. It looked like she was only holding pills so I asked the student nurse if the head nurse had both of my meds (pain pills & Ativan by IV) bc it looked like she was only holding pills. I was worried she hadn’t ordered the right kind of Ativan again & I just wanted to make sure she had the right meds so there would be no more hiccups in the day. The STUDENT NURSE said she wasn’t sure.

The HEAD NURSE took a break from arguing & walked back into the room.I  saw the STUDENT NURSE tell her something that instantly made her irate.  I didn’t hear what the student nurse said. Judging from the HEAD NURSE’S response, I think the HEAD NURSE thought I was complaining & got very mad at me.

“YOU TOO TARA!” she yelled at me, like we knew each other & I had betrayed her somehow. I tried to explain that I was worried she didn’t have the right meds again so I just wanted to make sure I was getting the right stuff. I wasn’t complaining. I was asking for clarification, but she didn’t want to hear it.

So, I stopped explaining & said, “Look, just give me the meds & I will leave.”

Then, she said in a creepy voice, “Nooo that’s not how it works. Now, I’m going to take your IV OUT & you’re going to go home with nothing.”

Without making eye contact, she  refused to give me the meds  (Ativan IV & pain pills) & walked away from me.. This meant they weren’t going to help me get out of my pain & I no longer could get the lumbar MRI to try to figure out why my back & abdomen pain was so bad. When it comes to the fight or flight response, I always choose flight. There was no reason for me to be there anymore.

The HEAD NURSE had walked away from me. She was now on  the other side of the room. I didn’t want to be there when she came back. So, I got up, took my IV out & tried to leave. I took 2-3 steps toward the hallway straight ahead of me, but  I never made it to the hallway. SECURITY GUARD #1 made sure of that.

As I tried to walk past SECURITY GUARD #1, he grabbed my left arm with his right hand. I paused & turned toward him. Suddenly , he yelled “SHE HIT HER”!  as he hit the bottom of my purse. As my stuff went flying everywhere, he instantly knocked me off my feet. He assaulted me over a false allegation and I wasn’t even close enough to touch her  The security guard just made up a reason to put his hands on me. Then, he knocked me on my back & fell on top of me.

 As I mentioned l, I’m disabled & mostly bedridden, and he hurt me that day & now my symptoms are worse. I later got MRIs(10/17/2024) on my brain. My pituitary is convex & inflamed. The new imaging also showed evidence of a cranial CSF leak. Liquid was identified.  I found out I had a spinal CSF leak in 2023.I had a spinal CSF leak identified in 2024. I now have 2 identified CSF leaks (1 cranial & 1 spinal).I also have a CHIARI malformation which means my brain is herniating out of my skull & into my spinal column which compresses my spine & brain stem, causing constant pain.

As I laid in jail, trying to breathe through my  pain as I detoxed from THC. I was sick & could only lay on the floor. I’m sure they’re filthy. I didn’t care. I needed to lay flat. I couldn’t believe I was in jail. I replayed what happened over & over again, trying to figure out why & how it happened? I started to wonder if I was the victim of Medicaid fraud. Could MEDICAID FRAUD have been SECURITY GUARD #1’s  motive for hurting me?

 6:45-7:00: Police take me to Banner ER to get medically cleared after the assault

7:00-10:00: Banner ER takes 2 CT SCANS & charges MEDICAID for 4CT SCANS

10:00-11:00:: Jail #1

11:00-12:00 midnight: Jail #2-booked & fingerprinted

12am- 1pm (the next day)- Held in custody, with no pain meds

Total time in custody: 18+ hours

WHY DID THE INCIDENT HAPPEN TO BEGIN WITH??

In my trials, I don’t have to prove why the security guard made the false allegation &’assaulted me, but I did a lot of research because I wanted to know why it happened. I wanted to know why he hurt me & why he thought he could get away with it? Is he just a bad security guard that likes to hurt people? Or, is he part of a Medicaid fraud operation that targeted me?

Q:Did the nurses & security guards know I was on Medicaid & in pain?

A: Yes .

When I got back from my failed MRI, I sat back down in line to wait. Some security guards entered the area, looking for someone. I saw them  escort two parties (who were just  asking questions) out of the hospital. They were escorted out but not assaulted. Not long after that, one of the security guards made a false allegation & assaulted me.

At one point, to stop people from complaining ( I guess), the HEAD NURSE yelled at us “Look, everybody in this line is in pain & on Medicaid!”

Everybody got quiet for a second & thought about what she was saying. I  think the head nurse thought she’d get less complaints if we all knew we were in the same boat, but her words had the opposite reaction. Immediately, people had more questions & got louder.

“If we are disabled people in pain, why are we all being forced to sit in chairs in the hallway  for hours?”

“What patients get  the private rooms with beds? People with better insurance?”

“Why are you the only nurse that can hand out medication to us?”

She was the only nurse giving out medication & she couldn’t stop fighting with people.

Q:Why were the rules different for me?

If they wanted me to leave, SECURITY GUARD #1 never should have NEVER stopped me from leaving!

I checked my medical records from that day. Before the assault, a doctor had approved me to be discharged.But, the security guard had different plans for me. I  think I was partially targeted bc I was alone. Don’t ever go to the ER alone, if you can help it.

Q:Was I assaulted bc I was vulnerable  & in pain &on Medicaid& alone?

I think the SECURITY GUARD #1 made up a false allegation so he could put his hands on me while claiming he  was protecting the nurse. If the police take a patient to jail, it’s easier for the hospital staff  to commit Medicaid fraud. I think this was part of the security guards motivation to hurt me..
